Terms of use

1. The service

Leaflora helps you identify plants from photos, check their health, keep a virtual garden with reminders and get care advice, using artificial intelligence and public weather and nature data. We may improve, change or stop features; we will tell you in advance about important changes to paid features.

2. AI results — important

• Identifications, diagnoses, toxicity information and advice are generated automatically and can be wrong or incomplete.
• Never eat, use as medicine or handle a plant or mushroom based only on Leaflora.
• Toxicity information is a guide, not medical or veterinary advice. If a person or animal may be poisoned, contact a doctor, a vet or a poison control centre immediately (in Switzerland: Tox Info Suisse, 145).
• You remain responsible for how you care for your plants and for any decision you take.

3. Your account

You must give correct information, keep your password secret and be at least 16 (younger only with a parent's consent). You are responsible for activity on your account. You can delete it at any time in Account.

4. Free plan and Premium

• The free plan has daily limits shown in the app.
• Premium is a subscription, monthly or yearly, at the price shown before you pay, including any applicable taxes. The first subscription can start with a free trial (7 days); you are only charged if you do not cancel before it ends.
• The subscription renews automatically at the end of each period until you cancel. You can cancel at any time in Account → Manage subscription; Premium then stays active until the end of the period already paid. Paid periods are not refunded, except where the law requires it.
• On the web, payments are processed by Stripe. Subscriptions bought in the App Store or Google Play are billed and managed by Apple or Google under their terms.
• We may change prices for future periods; we will tell you at least 30 days in advance, and you can cancel before the new price applies.

5. Right of withdrawal (EU/EEA and UK consumers)

If you are a consumer in the EU/EEA or the UK, you can withdraw from a paid subscription within 14 days of the contract without giving reasons, by writing to [email protected]. By starting Premium straight away you ask us to begin the service during this period; if you withdraw, you pay only a proportionate amount for the days used. Swiss law does not provide a statutory right of withdrawal for online purchases; the free trial lets you try Premium at no cost.

6. Acceptable use

Do not misuse Leaflora: no illegal content, no photos of other people without their consent, no attempts to break, overload, copy or automatically scrape the service or its AI, and no use of the service to build a competing product. We may suspend accounts that break these rules.

7. Your content

Your photos, notes and messages remain yours. You allow us to store and process them only to provide the service to you (for example, sending a photo to the AI and keeping a thumbnail in your garden). The species guides in the library are written for every user and contain none of your personal content.

8. Our content

The app, its design, texts, the brand Leaflora and the library are protected by copyright and trademark law. Reference photos of species come from iNaturalist under open licences and are shown with their authors' credit.

9. Availability

We do our best to keep Leaflora available, but cannot guarantee it works without interruption or errors, for example during maintenance or failures of our providers.

10. Liability

To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect damage, lost profits, damage to plants, animals or property caused by following AI results, or for slight negligence. Liability for intent and gross negligence, and for injury to life, body or health, is not excluded. Mandatory rights of consumers remain unaffected.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. We will tell you in the app at least 30 days before important changes take effect; if you do not agree, you can delete your account before then.

12. Law and courts

Swiss law applies, excluding the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods. Courts at our registered office have jurisdiction. Consumers keep the protection of the mandatory law and the courts of their country of residence. EU consumers can also use the EU's online dispute resolution platform (ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr); we are not obliged and not willing to take part in consumer arbitration proceedings.
